People have stated that Allen has a gift for writing, although it wasn’t until his adult life that he really began to develop it. He always loved creative writing in highschool and even periodically wrote for his highschool and college newspaper.
Allen has become an avid writer over the years. He takes copious notes and loves to write on a number of varous topics. He has begun to write articles, some of which have been published in the Bronx Gospel Newspaper CHANGE: Spirit of Excellence (which has begun to expand into other states.)
Allen has written his first book, which is entitled Transition: Breaking Through the Barriers. This book is a collection of poetry, essay and short stories, which chronicle Allen’s development and observations over the past ten years of his life. As his story is told, within the pages of this book, from his unique perspective, it will resonate within the heart and mind of the reader, prompting them to examine their own story and purpose. In revealing his own struggles in the search for meaning, Allen reminds us all that we are not alone. Even if our struggles are different, we can still discover meaning together as we journey through life.
To date, Allen is preparing a number of manuscripts for publication and he hopes to release his first novel in February of 2009. Check out some excerpts from his newly released book in the Transition Book Excerpts category on this site!
