Allen and Donna at the Honeycomb Hideout

My good friend Donna "Blue" Powell is attending Drew University’s Theological School in Madison, New Jersey. She also hosts the school’s Sunday morning Gospel Radio talk show, The Honeycomb Hideout . She is truly a remarkable, gifted person who has a passion to impact the lives of those she meets.

I was blessed to be a guest on the show (which airs at 7am -8:30am on WMNJ 88.9FM) on April 6, 2008. We had a great time talking about my book, Transition: Breaking Through the Barriers and the impact it’s having, my childhood experiences, college, graduate school, mission work in Ghana West Africa and other things. The hour and a half flew by very quickly. You know what they say, "Time flies when you’re having fun!"

Transition is on Target! I just discovered that my book, Transition: Breaking Through the Barriers is on TARGET.COM. I already knew Transition was available at major booksellers world-wide, but I didn’t know it was at Target, so this is a pleasant surprise! Check out the link to see the page. The Transition message continues to expand. Just wanted to share the news with you.

(Bethune Cookman University students & Professors with Transition, February 2007)

Hello Everyone!

I just wanted to let you know that I have created a site specifically for my book, Transition: Breaking Through the Barriers.

The new site is called, www.transitionunleashed.com

Why am I doing this?  Because I believe the message of Transition is worth it and your growing positive feedback about the book seems to be a good indicator. You will not believe some of the stories I hear. They have been both amazing and humbling.  An interesting phenomenon is that Transition is seriously resonating with women.   Mothers are reading it and giving it to their sons.  Wives are taking it from their husbands! Sisters are telling their sisters…

For those who haven’t bought my book yet - You can see what other people are saying about it below.  After reading, if you would like to purchase your own copy, CLICK HERE.   And for more information you can go to http://www.transitionunleashed.com/

   Have You Read Transition Yet

“Breaking through barriers in our lives means recognizing that change is needed and possible; without it, we lend ourselves to remain in bondage. In Allen Paul Weaver III’s book, Transition: Breaking Through the Barriers, he writes about those hidden struggles, thoughts and uncertainties that tend to throw us off kilter when searching for our true purpose. In the book, Allen exposes himself in a ten-year journey to self-discovery. This self-discovery came with a price: a suicide attempt, unrealistic images of self and other life struggles that are candidly composed in an anthology of short stories, poems and essays.

As some of you already know, We’re working on a Audio CD of my book, Transition: Breaking Through the Barriers. The first volume has been compiled and is in the process of being mixed. It’s been an interesting journey. It took me ten years to write my book and a year to get it published. As a new author, I figured the hardest work was now behind me - but this was not the case. It seems to take even more energy to promote the book and re-purpose its message into multiple formats for the different ways people learn.

When Allen Weaver began writing his book, he never thought it would take 10 years to complete. “God definitely had a sense of humor,” he says. His autobiographical anthology, Transition: Breaking Through the Barriers, offers a candid account of Allen’s self-discovery, tributes to family and friends, poems, short stories and essays about culture and society. He writes about his own attempted suicide and journey back to hope; he filters each entry through a God-inspired lens and unadorned commentary on life.

Are You Consistent?

I wrote about consistency a week or so ago. I think it is an issue that continues to go unchecked in many of our lives. Will our actions line up with our words and will our words line up with our beliefs? Will we do what we say we will do or will we have a long list of goals (if we make one) and hardly ever have anything on that list that is complete? Where are we headed and where do we want to go? What are we doing to get there or to change our direction?
