Finding Your Strength
Where are you with finding your strengths? What do you think of this quote below? I’d love to ‘read your thoughts.’ - Allen Paul Weaver III
“Far too many people spend a lifetime headed in the wrong direction. They go not only from the cradle to the cubicle, but then to the casket, without uncovering their greatest talents and potential.” - Tom Rath, Strengths Finder 2.0

Hi Allen,
I have been on that quest for the past few years now. I feel that He has helped me in pinpointing my strengths and weaknesses. The real challenge for me now is to align myself with a path that allows me to use those strengths He has given me for his glory. It is extremely difficult. I think they call this a rut!

Hey Reg,
Yes, this can be extremely difficult, because one must go against the flow of status quo. It’s like a fish swimming uphill - the currents are going in the opposite direction. A lot of people take the opposition to mean that it’s not for them. I know I’ve allowed the opposing current to cause me to give up at times. But there’s a Scripture in Proverbs that says, “It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, and the glory of kings to search it out.”
It’s like, how bad to you want to reach your greatest potential? What’s merely handed to us is ill appreciated. God has a plan, purpose, and potential for us… and we have to seek it out like buried treasure… or we can go and sit in our cubicle and refuse to dream. Finding buried treasure is difficult… but not impossible for those who are truly hungry to discover it. God has placed so much within us… buried… and He wants us to take the adventure with Him - to discover it.
