Remebering September 11th
Remembering September 11th
As we remember September 11, 2001
As we remember loved ones we lost
As we remember the horror of the towers falling with lives still inside
As we remember those who took their last plane ride
As we remember where we were when we first heard the news
As we remember the hurt, pain and grief
As we remember our own mortality
As we remember our anger towards those who brought such death
Whether outside our country and within our borders…
Let us also remember that hatred only leads to more hatred
Fighting fire with fire only causes more fire
To become closed in order to try and shield ourselves from hurt
Only necessitates more hurt
Only Love and generosity can stem the tide of the raging heart
Here’s what Proverbs has to say on this day:
“There is one who scatters, yet increases more; and there is one
who witholds more than is right, But it leads to poverty. The
generous soul will be made rich, and he who waters will also be
watered himself.” Proverbs 11: 24-25
So let us water one another… even our enemies
And see what new possibilities arise from our actions.
