About a month or so ago, I got a copy of The Message Behind the Movie: How To Engage With A Film Without Disengaging Your Faith.  The book is written by Douglas M. Beaumont.  At first sight I knew it was for me - given that I’m a person who loves Storytelling and who is serious about my faith.

 

The book sat on my shelf for a few weeks, because of my busy work schedule, but I finally got a chance to start reading it.  I’m on page 68 and so far Beaumont does a good job at delving into the world and mechanics of Storytelling.  He also provides the tools to understand how to build a framework for Christians to practically evaluate the depth of a movie through the lens of Biblical Christianity.  And don’t think that you already know what he’s going to say.  You may be surprised.  I’ll talk more about the book as I continue reading.  If you’re serious about your faith and about motion pictures, this is a must read.
