It’s Time to Advance!
It’s time to advance in your life! I had the privilege of being on a conference call last week, with 41 other persons, hosted by Delatorro McNeal II . He’s the author of Caught Between a Dream and a Job . We all listened to an hour of his motivational teaching about pressing forward in our life’s pursuits - especially in this economy.
Delatorro shared many motivational principles, too numerous to list here, but here’s a few of them:
Getting to your destination in life requires you taking a journey. When you take a journey you need to know five things.
1. Your ‘here’. (Where you are.)
2. Your ‘there’. (Where your going.)
3. Your ‘vehicle’. (That thing you will use to get to your destination - starting a business, creating a product, etc…).
4. Your M.A.P. (Massive Action Plan.)
5. Your Fuel. (Your passion and reason why you must reach your destination.)
"Most people think about it and talk about it, but don’t do about it."
"You can’t shrink your way into your greatness. You must advance."
"Motivation is like soap - you must apply it daily."
When the conference call was over, Delatorro offered two of his teaching systems at discounted prices. I really wanted to buy at least one, but my money is tied up in the publishing process and marketing plan for my new book, SpeedSuit Powers, which launches in August. So my decision to not go into debt for the purchase hurt, yet it gave me an even greater determination as this phrase came to mind: "When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade."
So the realization came, if not being able to purchase his products was my ‘lemon’ - then my ‘lemonade’ would be to focus on squeezing out every ounce of ‘juice’ from the notes I took and the Mp3 of the call that he provided to the conference call attendees.
"Many people think about it and talk about but never do about it." So I’m determined to advance in my life so that I may receive all that God has stored up for me and help others do the same. This determination even sparked a short story that I wrote that night, called ‘A Lemon Story’ .
Let me know your thoughts.
