Do You Watch Heroes?
If you watch the hit television show Heroes,(now in it’s 3rd Season) then I want to hear from you! What is it about the show that draws you and keeps your interest? How far does your fandom go? Just leave your comments below. I hope to write a series of posts about the show, people’s responses and comic book ideology - relating it to our everyday lives - so you don’t want to miss it.
Let me say a few things to start things off:
“Ordinary People with Extraordinary Abilities.” I am a fan of the show and I must admit, that tagline and the mysterious eclipse were a huge draw for me. I think - from this beginning marketing campaign - the show has really spoken to a deep seated need in everyday people: a need to know that even if life may be ordinary there is a chance that destiny will reveal to us that we are anything but ordinary. Heroes asks the broad questions which consumes every human heart: Who Am I? What Am I Capable Of? What’s My Purpose? Does God Exist? What’s My Destiny?

“Well, first what drew me to Heroes was Joey, haha. Having a comic book writer for a fiancé, you would be watching the show too. But, I love it. It’s a show about normal people who just all of the sudden have these powers. There’s such a mystery about how it all started and where it’s all going. Everyone is intertwined somehow and every episode brings something new to the table. As soon as you watch one episode, you’re sucked in and want to figure out more.”

Yeah, I agree with Kristin. You can see yourselves in these people and relate to them. And the fact that they have powers is just really cool!
