A LIFE-CHANGING ACTION
Where is your life headed? Do you want a change in direction? How many of your goals and dreams seem to be falling by the wayside? What can you do to go down a different path… a better, more fulfilling path? What one action can change your entire life forever? Is it even possible to change things? Yes, change is possible and there is an action that has this transforming ability. It is single-handedly, the most simple technique - yet it yields the greatest returns. Even so, many people (myself included) do not take advantage of this simple action on a consistent basis as they pursue their dreams; and because of this inconsistency success is often elusive. But now is the time to change and become consistent!
This one action has been the foundation for transforming individuals into corporations, unknown names into world-wide Brands and persons with poverty into persons who command great wealth and make great impact. Just look at Walt Disney , Oprah Winfrey , Bill Gates , Tyler Perry . Examine the history and workings of Starbucks , Barnes & Noble , Colgate-Palmolive and Facebook .
So what is this one, simple action that has the potential to transform your entire life? "Follow-through." That’s it. No gimmicks. No special effects. No singing chorus. Just "Follow-through."
OPPORTUNITY FOR ADVANCEMENT
Think about it for a moment… Most people talk about their dreams, but far fewer actually "follow-through" on what they talk about. How many opportunities for growth, impact and advancement come our way - but we miss out - not because we are incapable - but because we simply did not "follow through?" We did not take the necessary action all the way to its logical conclusion. We did not "return the phone call", as actor/author Malik Yoba talks about in his book, Please Return My Phone Call . We did not get the information in on time and now the opportunity has been delayed or aborted.
LIFE AND DEATH
"Success lives and dies by follow-through." It is single-handedly the one thing that separates a truly successful person from one who is lacking. Look at people you know who are successful in various areas of their lives and talk with them. You will discover that what primarily seperates you from them is not "ability" or "intelligence," but consistent "follow-through." All the gifts and talents in the world mean nothing if you and I do nothing with them. The sooner we learn this lesson, the better, because people are waiting for us to become who we are meant to be - so they can become who they are meant to be. We each influence one another and either we are drawing someone towards their destiny or pushing them further from who they truly are.
THE ESSENCE OF "FOLLOW THROUGH"
Look at this quote from, Andrew Seltz, the Go-to Guy :
"When you make a true decision, you select a course of action. You cut yourself off from all other options and begin moving. When others see you taking action you are transformed in their eyes into a business they can work with, an organization they can support, or a candidate they can vote for. You stop being potential energy and become kinetic."
What keeps us from following through on certain things? Fear? Laziness? Complacency? Where have we "dropped the ball" on the dreams God has placed inside of us? Where have we abdicated the responsibility that is ours alone to accomplish? No one else will do the job for us. Even God won’t force our hand, but places the opportunity before us and tells us to choose. Make a list of all the areas and endeavors in your life that you need to complete. Then make a step by step plan towards the fulfillment of each area. Finally, walk out the plan and be ready to make necessary adjustments along the way. If you do nothing then nothing gets done. If you do something then something gets done.
"Follow-through"… the one action that - if done consistently - has the potential to transform your entire life.
