Jesus is our ultimate example. He knows what great Destiny lies before him and he knows what opposition awaits… and he has to go through the trials to get to the glory. He has to literally face off against the devil on various occasions. He’s tempted with taking the easy way out of his destiny in favor of a counterfeit copy. He does many wonderful works to help the people, only to have to face accusations on a consistent basis about the work that he does - no less from the very ones who should understand the work that he does - the religious leaders of the day. One day he’s received, the next he’s rejected. One day people believe - the next others scoff at him with unbelief. At his weakest moment, when he could throw his destiny away and retreat… he prays, “Father, not my will… but Your will be done.” He yields to his destiny. He’s betrayed, spit upon, falsely accused, beaten beyond recognition, humiliated and impaled on a wooden, splintered cross. And he goes through all of this because God is Love and desires that no one should perish. He knows that destiny is waiting on him - and even though he suffers… he pursues it full steam! He receives the responsibility of his destiny… and then walks it out. Death is not the end… only what must be conquered to secure life everlasting for humanity. (The Gospels)There are seemingly countless other stories that illustrate this truth. Perhaps you can think of individuals in your own life and how they either achieved their destiny or missed it. I still newly believe that “Destiny awaits the arrival of an individual as much as the individual awaits the arrival of destiny.

Sometimes you know moments where destiny intersects with your reality - where you know that what now lies at your feet could not have been orchestrated on your own. Then the question becomes, “What do you do with this moment?” How do you build upon it?So what does this mean in the grand scheme of our lives?

Lately, I’ve been wrestling with the issue of God’s constant presence in our time of trouble. I’ve been struggling with the fact that I buckle too easily under pressure. My faith seems to weaken almost at the first sign of trouble. I don’t like conflict - yet this world is full of conflict. I find that there are many of us who say we believe in Christ, yet we are like Gideon, retreating under a tree somewhere and asking “Where is God? Where are the miracles? Why am I suffering like I am?” And while we are busy running from our destiny, there are many who are believing God for their destiny and running ahead into battle. While people say something can’t be done, there are others out there doing the impossible. Are you like me? Maybe so… maybe not. But I know I’m not the only one who struggles with securing their destiny. I want to do the impossible! I want to walk in the destiny God has prepared for me!

For too long, I thought that Destiny would just “show up” and say, “Hey Allen. I’m here!” So, I would live in mediocrity and figured that when the time was right, everything would just work out and I wouldn’t have to struggle and could be “sure” about things. But mediocrity kills! When I begin to open my eyes and look at the lives of others who have accomplished great things and influenced people at the core of their beings, I discover that there is a battle to be fought on many levels.

“Work while it’s still day, because the night comes when no one can work.” - Jesus Christ

Can you imagine Destiny meeting us and we were not ready for it? Then we would miss our purpose… our season.
There are things we must do in order to prepare for our Destiny. There are steps we must take in order to journey towards our Destiny. There will be opposition that stands in our way - both externally and internally - so we better get ready for the battle which lies ahead. Don’t think that everything is going to be smooth sailing and don’t think if you encounter opposition that this necessarily means you are supposed to give up.

God promises to be with you as you journey towards your Purpose - even if you encounter moments, days, weeks, maybe even years when it “feels” as if God is not present and it looks as if things aren’t working out. As the author of Jesus Mean and Wild, Mark Galli says, “God loves you and has a difficult plan for your life.” Be as ready as you can for your destiny and when you find it to be bigger and wider and farther and deeper than what you can handle, only believe God, and know He is there to empower you to do what you could not do on your own.
Your Destiny is awaiting your arrival.

Here are two truths for you: 1. You will NEVER be fully satisfied unless you walk in your purpose. 2. People will talk about you NO MATTER what you do so you might as well pursue the very reason why God created you.

Your Destiny is Waiting on You.
