Do Something Different today. It is said that we are creatures of habit. We have our routines which we do day in and day out: 6:45am wake up. 8:00am catch bus… and on and on and on… You know the routine, wake up, go to work, come home, eat, watch television and go to sleep… just to wake up to the same a few hours later.

What Dreams live inside of you?

As I walked into my place of employment and waited for the elevator… hesitation overtook me as the dreams that live inside of me suddenly swelled up in my mind. Where did this come from? “…Lord is it possible?” Everything seemed so far fetched from where I stood - almost too fantastic to ever come to pass. And what made it worse was that I was becoming afraid to believe them.

Destiny is waiting on us. What are we doing about it?
The average self-help expert will tell us, that we should follow our dream and listen to our heart. This is true to a point and that point is when our dream and heart doesn’t line up with God’s dreams for us.
How often do we take to heart and mind the scripture: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11) NIV

Destiny is Waiting On Us. We talked, in Part 2, about the opposition that’s often faced as we journey towards our purpose. Not everyone will be happy about our pursuit. One reason in particular is because some who oppose us live lives of quiet desperation. Our pursuit illuminates their darkness.
But, I want to go behind the scenes to the source of the opposition: the Devil. An explanation of suffering and opposition within the human experience makes no sense unless evil is real. Why do bad things happen to good people if God is good? Because we are caught in a war and the enemy seeks our destruction. To remove the devil from the equation is to have an imcomplete formula - which causes us to make unwise decisions.

Jesus is our ultimate example. He knows what great Destiny lies before him and he knows what opposition awaits… and he has to go through the trials to get to the glory. He has to literally face off against the devil on various occasions. He’s tempted with taking the easy way out of his destiny in favor of a counterfeit copy. He does many wonderful works to help the people, only to have to face accusations on a consistent basis about the work that he does - no less from the very ones who should understand the work that he does - the religious leaders of the day. One day he’s received, the next he’s rejected. One day people believe - the next others scoff at him with unbelief. At his weakest moment, when he could throw his destiny away and retreat… he prays, “Father, not my will… but Your will be done.” He yields to his destiny. He’s betrayed, spit upon, falsely accused, beaten beyond recognition, humiliated and impaled on a wooden, splintered cross. And he goes through all of this because God is Love and desires that no one should perish. He knows that destiny is waiting on him - and even though he suffers… he pursues it full steam! He receives the responsibility of his destiny… and then walks it out. Death is not the end… only what must be conquered to secure life everlasting for humanity. (The Gospels)There are seemingly countless other stories that illustrate this truth. Perhaps you can think of individuals in your own life and how they either achieved their destiny or missed it. I still newly believe that “Destiny awaits the arrival of an individual as much as the individual awaits the arrival of destiny.”

“Destiny is Waiting on Us.”
In Genesis 25:29-34 we find Esau, the eldest son, selling his birthright to his younger brother for food. He’s been working hard all day and is famished, exhausted and physically weak. When he comes in the house, the smell of Jacob’s cooking assaults his nose with aromatic sweetness. His taste buds begin to salivate and he heads for the kitchen in a hurry! But Jacob won’t give him any food until Esau agrees to give up the inheritance that is set aside for him as the eldest son.
