Have you ever watched Dragon Ball Z? If you have then you know about the power of a Saiyan. If you’re a guy and you’ve seen an episode you most likely love it. I have yet to meet a guy who doesn’t. My wife has tried to watch it with me, but she only last five minutes or so before she gets up and says, ‘I don’t see what you like about this." If you have no idea what I’m talking about but want to know more… keep reading.
Let me now place my disclamer: There are two versions of DBZ - the unedited Japanese version and the edited American version. I watch the edited version that used to air on the Cartoon Network and understand that the violence in the unedited version that can be much stronger. So for those who would want to watch this show - I recommend the edited version.

What do you believe?
So I’m standing outside of LAX, waiting for my ride and a man comes up to me and strikes up a conversation. It turns out that he used to live near where I currently live and we have a casual conversation for not even a few minutes before he tells me he has a gift for me:
the Bhagavad-gita. It turns out that this man, dressed in regular clothes is a Hare krishna. I decline his book and tell him that I am a Christian.

I wrote the piece below based on the Virginia Tech shootings.
As we go on with our lives… people die - eternal souls taken, stripped away while others are given in blind rage and anger and fear.
We listen to these horror stories of individuals on there way to their last moments on earth - as they meet their end at the hands of the ridiculed and tortured… we cry when we hear these true life stories - we call them tragedies and disturbing and the perpetrator heinous…

“Destiny is Waiting On Us.” - Tisha Y. Lewis

God has a purpose for your life. Destiny is waiting on you. If you choose to go after it you’re going to run into opposition. You will struggle in some way, shape, form, or fashion. It’s going to be difficult. People will talk about you and some will deliberately try to stop you. But it’s waiting for you… this destiny that was created before the foundations of the world. No Weapon Formed Against Me… Part One

“No weapon formed against me shall prosper…”
(This is a work in Progress. I’m still wrestling with what I’ve written. My thoughts are not complete yet, but I figured others may wrestle with this as well so I decided to share it now and see what conversation comes out of this.)
How much do I believe the Word of God? Not just in a surface understanding in my mind, but deep at the core of who I am where things become as natural as breathing? I don’t question my breathing - I just breathe. When something stands in the way of my breathing then I fight it because I know that I was created to breathe. “No weapon formed against me shall prosper…”

“To covet or not to covet… that is the question.” It seemed to be a really big deal back in Exodus because God told the Hebrew people not to desire and be jealous of what belongs to another individual. This same rule holds true of us today.
Sometimes it seems so difficult to not covet what others around you have. We see and want so much, but the issue really boils down to trust: “Do we trust that God has a plan for me that is good?” If the answer is yes, then why do we chase after other people’s possessions and become jealous or envious when one person gets something that we don’t have?
